RAJ by the SEA

Handmade in Charlestown, Rhode Island

Six years ago, neighbors Elizabeth Eckel and Alexandra Lehmann created Raj by the Sea. They began using Elizabeth's ancient collection of hand tooled teak stamps from Rajasthan along with hand carved blocks of their own.

Taught by the late artist Jon Campbell, they discovered the ocean's lifeways inspired their learning this age old craft out of India. Jon's "Flounder" and his "Piping Plovers" surrounded by paisley stamps on Nepalese rice paper sold out in their first art show.

We source our fabrics carefully. Most often they are repurposed and found in high end consignment shops and estate sales. This handstitched linen placement has a painted edge. Exquisite details that your guests may not notice - but ones that help make every party and event unique to its own.

Remember the striped paper straws in green, red, yellow and blue? Sitzenreich glasses cannot be found anywhere. We're thinking of re issuing them. These fun tall glasses use nautical signal flags to warn off guests - like "Caution! Give way!"
